Shwesandaw Pagoda

Built in 1057 by King Anawrahta, this five-terraced pagoda offers panoramic views of the Bagan plains. The golden stupa enshrines sacred hair relics of the Buddha.

Ananda Temple
အာနန္ဒာဘုရား
One of Bagan's most revered temples, built in 1105. The architectural masterpiece features four standing Buddha images and intricate stone carvings depicting the life of Buddha.

Dhammayangyi Temple
ဓမ္မရံဘုရား
The largest temple in Bagan, built by King Narathu in the 12th century. Known for its mysterious bricked-up inner passageways and excellent brickwork with minimal mortar.

Thatbyinnyu Temple
သဗ္ဗညုဘုရား
At 61 meters, this is Bagan's tallest temple. Built in the mid-12th century, its name means "omniscience" and it combines Mon and Indian architectural influences.

Sulamani Temple
ဆူလာမဏိဘုရား
Built in 1183, this "Crowning Jewel" temple features exquisite murals and stucco decorations. Less crowded than major temples but equally impressive architecturally.

Htilominlo Temple

Built in 1211, this temple is known for its fine plaster carvings that remain remarkably well-preserved. The name commemorates King Htilominlo's selection as crown prince.
